Hi! I’m Jan Glogovic. I made You Decide Who You Are to remind you to be proud of who you truly are and who you can become.
Trying to express myself in a different way, it all started as a little hobby with some self printed shirts at my dad’s previous printing office in 2013. I design all products on my own with the inspiration I get when I meet and talk with people and also through different phases in my life. All products and collections are then printed in California, USA.
In conclusion, I hope to inspire you, to show you that it’s okay to feel a lot sometimes and that these feelings can help you to find something beautiful within you.
How You Decide Who You Are produces:
Cotton is the primary fibre we use in our products, representing more than two-thirds of our total fibre inputs. We primarily purchase U.S. cotton because of its high quality and the industry’s strong environmental sustainability and social responsibility practices.
Sustainably grown and ethically-harvested U.S. cotton remains the optimal choice for You Decide Who You Are products.
Regulated as a food crop under strict U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines, cotton grown in the US represents the best combination of quality and value for our products. Under the guidance of the National Cotton Council, the USDA and various other organizations, US farmers have continuously reduced their environmental footprint by adopting a variety of conservation and targeted agricultural practices. More than 75% of the cotton acreage where our partner’s cotton is grown is irrigated only using naturally occurring rainwater.
In addition, conservation agriculture practices and advanced soil monitoring systems have reduced soil erosion and residual impacts on the environment. GPS positioning and advanced delivery systems allow farmers to be more efficient while planting, fertilizing and harvesting. In conclusion, these effectively allow for a reduction in GHG emissions and environmental impacts on the land and neighboring ecosystems.
Also, US cotton farmers are required to adhere to strict US labour laws and Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations which are likely the most stringent in the global cotton industry.
Harnessing innovative solutions through chemistry allows our manufacturer to reduce our impacts and improve our products. Committed to using non-hazardous, bio-eliminable substances in our products, our focus on safe chemistry begins in the design and development stage of our process.
You Decide Who You Are tries to do our best to minimize waste in packaging and source eco-friendly packaging materials. Many of our packaging materials are either recyclable or biodegradable. We use bubble wraps from a minimum of 15% recycled plastic and 10% post-consumer content. We also use kraft tubes from 70-100% post-consumer recycled content and 0-30% secondary recycled content.
Energy Efficiency & Climate Change
Climate change is a reality that affects our lives and could present challenges to our business in the future. In our operations and business, the largest impact on climate stems from our energy consumption. So, our manufacturer has invested significantly in technologies and initiatives to improve our energy efficiency. In addition, these increase energy generation from renewable sources and optimize the capture of thermal energy throughout our processes.
