I am not a gym person, whatsoever. My lack of equipment knowledge mixed with my social anxiety makes going to the gym overall, not a great time. Whether you’re not a gym person like me, or feel uncomfortable going since the pandemic has started, here are some tips on ways to stay active, if the gym just isn’t for you.
Whether it just be jumping around in your room, taking a dance or zumba class, or even dancing at a party with friends, dance is a great way to stay active. Dance is my personal favorite way to stay active, simply because I find a lot of fun in it. There’s something so freeing about dancing around to the beat of a drum, a subconscious way of burning a ton of calories.
Go For A Hot Girl Walk
Or a normal walk, it’s really up to you. The “Hot Girl Walk” has taken TikTok by storm, and I’m all here for it. The original idea behind the HGW is you go for a walk, with no music or podcasts, and simply reflect on your goals and desires. As a music fiend myself I think this is easier said than done, but accompanying music doesn’t kill the meaning behind the walk, so I leave it up to personal preference.
Try A Workout Youtube Video
Working out at home used to be quite the challenge for me, until I entered the world of at-home workout Youtube videos. There are many channels to chose from, such as Chloe Ting or Blogilates. Youtube videos and channels like these make working out from home super easy and achievable.
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this list of ways to stay active if the gym just isn’t for you. The gym is definitely not for me, and I hope this reaches some people who share my same experiences.
