Getting Ready for Spring

Getting Ready for Spring

February is pretty much over and soon it’ll be March. That means the winter season is starting to come to an end to make way for spring. The weather is getting warmer. Snow is starting to melt away and grass is growing in its place. It’s a bittersweet feeling when the season ends, especially if winter was your favorite season. But getting ready for spring doesn’t have to be all that sad. It’s a good chance to try something new during the season.

A Change in Wardrobe

Time to put away all those winter jackets and warm sweaters. Your wardrobe is due for a change! Get out whatever you want to wear for this season. Maybe it’s those pairs of denim jeans that you’re dying to wear again, or maybe it’s that new top you’ve recently bought. Either way, it’s a good opportunity to wear something new for the season. I’m currently window shopping for some new, yet affordable clothes that I’d love to wear during spring.

Admire the Scenery

The spring season is a time where flowers are in bloom. There’s also a good chance of seeing a sunny day instead of a cloudy one. If you live close to nature, open the curtains and admire the grass and flowers that are starting to grow. Or just open a window to breathe in the fresh air. Heck, go grab a camera and start taking pictures of the scenery!

Make a Garden

If you have a big enough garden or backyard, this is a good chance to create a beautiful garden full of flowers to get ready for spring. My dad started a gardening hobby last year and has since been tending to plants he’s growing in the backyard. He and my mom buy flowers and plants from retail stores to plant in the backyard or put in a vase in the dining room. He would also ask my brother and I to give him the clear cups from Starbucks drinks that he can use to grow smaller plants with. If you don’t have a backyard or garden, that’s okay! You can still make your house look fabulous with a vase full of flowers or even with a potted plant.

Going out for a Walk

Admittedly this one is a little iffy since we’re still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we all want a change in scenery once in a while. As long as you wear a mask when you’re outdoors and you’re not sick, a short walk around the neighborhood or to the park shouldn’t hurt too much. Plus, even if it’s just walking, you would at least be getting some exercise in.

Do Some Spring Cleaning!

Want to clean the house but didn’t have the chance to do so? Well, now is a good time! Spring cleaning is where you do a thorough cleaning of your house. You could always clean your home anytime, but spring is a good time to do so. Plus, there are so many things you can do for that. For example, there is dusting the book shelves and dressers, cleaning the windows, kitchen appliances, and the bathroom. You might not finish in one day, but it’ll feel good being productive afterwards.

There’s no one way for getting ready for spring, but it can be helpful having some idea on what to do. New season should mean new changes as well as new opportunities. You could find these suggestions useful, or maybe you have your own way to prepare for spring!
