Four Tips To Stay Motivated During Quarantine

Here are my four tips to stay motivated during quarantine. The world we are currently living in is different from anything we’ve ever known. Yet, each day feels the same — sleep in, scroll through your social media apps, struggle to get out of your pajamas, work (a little…), watch Netflix, stay up late, and do it all again the next day. Sometimes it seems near impossible to break this chain, and it makes you feel drowsier each day.

To try to combat this perpetual laziness with some productivity, here are a few easy tips that should spring you back to life in no time!

1. Have A Routine

While living life normally, we all have a routine — wake up, get ready for the day, go to work, come home, have some free time, go to sleep. While these routines aren’t always the most exciting, they provide us with predictability — we know what to expect from the day. This routine you set for yourself doesn’t have to be jam-packed, or even necessarily have to be one of productive activities, but doing events such as waking up and going to sleep at similar times each day is important to a healthy lifestyle, and will greatly improve your mental health.

2. Set Breaks For Yourself

Along with having a routine, it’s very important to have breaks within that schedule. Telling yourself that certain hours will be set aside for leisure activities gives you something to look forward to. Working towards a reward at the end of your tasks will boost your productivity throughout the day!

3. Go Outside!

Just going outside to get some fresh air and sunlight — if only for 15-20 minutes a day — will do wonders for your physical and mental health. It is scientifically proven that going outside boosts your energy for the rest of the day. This also improves productivity and wellness.

4. Stay Hydrated!

We know it’s really hard to stay away from that delicious iced coffee, but drinking a healthy amount of water each day is extremely important. Dehydration leads to a lack of energy, as well as being detrimental to one’s health. This tip is the easiest of them all to adapt, and is highly recommended!

As always, none of these tips are required: you can do all of these things, or none of them! However, they’re all important steps in living a healthy lifestyle, and improving overall wellbeing. However you’re choosing to spend your quarantine, be sure you’re spending it safely!
