Do you need to be uplifted or refreshed?
A good way to do this is through these bedroom revamp tips:
Acknowledge that we should be very mindful of our home, work space and surroundings. You spend a lot of time there! If you decide to revamp these spaces, they can actually make you feel as new of a person as buying a wardrobe or getting a new haircut can.
PsychologyToday.com states that there are studies that show that women with cluttered homes actually had higher levels of stress than normal. Also, the same article addresses that other studies showed that individuals found cluttered and messy areas harder to tackle and more overwhelming as opposed to a cleaner and organized area which was more approachable.
Organizing your space is like organizing you mindset.
Here are some tips to revamp your bedroom:
Clean out your closet!
Yes, literally wipe and dust things, but go through all your clothes and shoes. What do you actually wear? What don’t you wear? Figure out what you can get rid of (donate perhaps) and what you actually need. I always have at least a whole trash bag’s worth of clothes I can donate at the end of my cleaning sessions.
Get some organizers, hangers, shelving, etc.
Whether they are hangers, hanging compartments for more clothes, shoe organizers, plastic bins, get them! You can have a lot of clothes and shoes, but with the help of these tools, you can make it look neat and make everything easier to find.
Remember to also take a look into your bathroom or vanities and make sure these are organized and clean as well. I bought small drawers and such to organize my makeup, and a larger container to put in my extra shampoos. soaps, deodorants, lotions, etc.
Buy new bedding.
New pillows, a throw pillow if you want, a new set of sheets and a cute set that you like and think represents you or goes with the style you are trying to create (elegant, modern, boho, etc.) I usually go for a boho look and I got mine for 40 bucks on Amazon.
Look at your lighting!
Besides the major lighting fixture in your room, think about adding hanging curtain lights, lamps for desk side tables, fairy lights, etc. It’s a nice touch, and especially if you have a roommate like I do, it’s a nice thing to have if you wanted to stay up and read a book with lighting and not bother anyone else too much.
Add pictures of family, friends or whatever else you like, artwork you like, and any other decorations you want. Displaying your favorite things or projects is a good way to inspire you even more. There are also many DIY projects on the web, you could find something you like to make and do that. It’s just important to make it all yours.
Let your creativity and personal tastes work together!
That is the most important part. These are just some small steps I took to help me with my setup, with a small budget. I described a lot of projects and products which can be found for really cheap online. With cleanliness and a revamp, you will feel less overwhelmed and more ready to take on the day! Thanks for reading and I hope these bedroom revamp tips work for you!
