7 Ways To Cure Summer Boredom Right Now

With the down time of summer comes the long days of boredom for most. If you are anything like me, you probably get pretty bored sitting around the house during the summer months. After living through a whole pandemic last summer, I came up with a few ways to help entertain myself during those long hot months. Keep reading for 7 ways to cure summer boredom right now!

Read A Book

I hear this one all the time and roll my eyes, but here me out—buy a Kindle. The Amazon Kindle is an awesome way to have millions of books at your fingertips! Going to the bookstore can be super overwhelming and you can’t always find what you’re looking for. On the Kindle, you can select from millions of book options and have them all right there on one device. I purchased the Kindle Paperwhite and I am obsessed. It’s even waterproof so you can read all you want during bath time!

Listen To A Podcast

Podcasts are a great way to keep yourself entertained. If you’re alone, listening to a podcast is similar to listening to a friend. There are millions of podcast options out there for your choosing! Some of my favorite podcasts include The Daily, Mordbid: A True Crime Podcast, We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle, and Crime Junkie. You can access most podcasts through Spotify or Apple!

Talk To A Friend

One of my favorite activities in the summer is hopping on a Zoom with my friends and having a drink. All of my friends just graduated college and moved away, so Zoom is the best option for us. So if you’re ever bored, pour up a drink and call a friend!

Watch Your Favorite Movies

With no due dates or homework, why not sit on the couch and relax? Watching my favorite movies from my childhood is one of the best ways to keep myself entertained. It’s funny to go back and see what I used to love and compare it to what I love now!

Plan A Vacation

The world is finally opening back up, so it might be time for a vacation. Grab your family or a friend and get planning! The world awaits you.

Write In A Journal

During the early summer months of the COVID-19 pandemic, I started keeping a journal. This turned out to be one of the best things I ever did. Looking back at my journal entries, it’s very interesting to see how much I grew in the last year.

Make Art

Take a trip to the nearest arts and crafts store and get to work! Paint a picture, draw in a sketchbook, or even make a collage! The options are endless.

That concludes my list of 7 ways to cure summer boredom right now. These are my favorite activities to do when I’m bored and I’d love to hear yours! Do these ideas help you when you’re longing for something to do? As always, let me know what you think!
